Weeks 3 and 4

Ok, so after a last minute change in plans at the end of week 3 I am finally getting to update on here. Week 3 was going really well until my husband came down with the stomach flu. We had plans to head to OH for my nephew's first birthday on Saturday. He came down with the flu on Wednesday. Instead of taking the chance of him not being better by Saturday, I drove to my parents house on Thursday. This way the boys and I could ride over with them to the party. So I packed up my workout gear and dvds so that I could still get my workouts in. The only thing I didn't do was pack my scale. I did get on the scale Thursday morning and I was down almost 1 pound. So I am assuming I lost a pound in week 3. Which that would put me at 210.

I finally ordered the Bob's workout DVD and had it in the mail in time for my workout Saturday morning. And oh my word those workouts are TOUGH!! One of the workouts has a lot to do with your core muscles. Since having Carson, my core just isn't as strong as it was. So that particular part of the DVD was extremely hard. The other part of the workout is hard too, but I didn't have all the equipment so it didn't seem as hard. However, I am sure now that I am home and when I do it I will be bent over, heart pumping, and arms aching through the entire workout.

Since we were out of town I did miss one of my workouts during week 4. I didn't plan on being out of town so long so I didn't pack the strength dvd. And after 6 hours in the car, I didn't feel like bringing it out and working out. I could really tell that I didn't workout on that Tuesday when I went to do the strength on Thursday it was hard. It just amazes me how missing one day can make it so hard the next workout.

So my results for the end of week for is an exciting loss of 2lbs. I am now down to 208 pounds. I don't know why this felt so good. I felt like there was progress actually being made. I mean, I know I have been losing, but something about being under 210 makes me feel really good. Slowly, but surely I am going to get there.

Instead of doing Bob's workout DVD on Sunday I decided to try his Ultimate Cardio Body Workout.  It was pretty similar to the Body Rev Cardio Conditioning DVD. I only used 5lb weights, so it seemed a little easier. Don't let that fool you, I still was panting and working hard. It was also an hour long. So I did do an extra half hour. In the bonus material of the dvd there was some other dvds he is going to release. Of course all of them look great and I want them. I just like to have a variety so that I can mix it up and not get bored.

I have decided to do two more weeks of his week 4 of the program. This will take me to 6 full weeks of working out. I will then take my measurements and another set of pictures. I am not sure if I will see a lot of results. So I am hoping if I don't that it doesn't discourage me. I know that it takes time to lose the weight and get back into shape. I just wish it would go a little faster.

I feel like I am starting to really enjoy the working out. It takes a lot to get me motivated to do it, but when I do it I feel great. I have also learned that if I don't do it first thing in the morning then more than likely I won't do it. I just keep telling myself, yes it is early, but I will feel better once I get going.

Now lets take on week 5!

Another week down.

Well this was a rough week. Lou was out of town from Monday evening until Thursday evening. I must admit I am completely spoiled. He does the middle of the night feedings and helps out in the mornings so that I can get my workout in. It was difficult to do all the feedings and get myself up in the morning to workout. I did manage to get my workouts in all week, but not as long as I like. I made sure to get everything from the Bob Harper program in though. I knew that was the most important thing to do. If I was able to get other stuff in that was just a bonus.

My weigh in reflected my rough week. I did lose a pound, but was kind of hoping for more. I just feel better when I lose 2 pounds a week. I know once I get under 200 I will be satisfied with one pound a week, but until then it is rough. I am now down to 211. I just have to keep telling myself slow and steady is the best way to lose the weight. I am halfway through the Bob Harper training program.

Our local YMCA offered an aerobics bash this Saturday. Basically, you can go to the YMCA and try a sampling of the classes they offer. Each class only lasted for 30 minutes. When you attend the normal class it is longer than 30 minutes.  I was really wanting to try their spin class. That was the first class they offered and I LOVED it!! Even though I got one of the old bikes I still had a great time. I also tried their power circuit class. This class is a variety of strength, cardio, and abs. I did receive some compliments from the teacher on my form and drive. That made me feel really good. The third class was boot camp. And let me tell you!! That one was HARD!!! I was warned that it was tough. I have a feeling though if you attended the whole class it would be an AWESOME workout. I tried the Zumba class.  It was alright. I don't have much rhythm so it was hard to keep up, but I can see how it can be a great workout once you catch on to all the moves. Finally, I did the kickboxing class. This class too is another good one. I imagine if I took the class when I was done I would be walking out in a full on sweat. I wanted to try the powercut class, but that was the last time slot. I had already done 2.5 hours of exercise and was pretty wiped out. I didn't think I could handle another 2 hours. I would highly recommend you going to your local YMCA and check out what they have to offer.

Now on to week 3.

Bob Harper Program Week 1

Well this was my first full week of the Inside Out Method Program. I didn't follow it exactly. I feel for myself I need to work out 6 days a week. His program only had workouts 4 days. So I put in workouts the other two days. Also, on the days I did his workouts sometimes I would add a little extra workout in depending on how I felt. So on average I did a little over 90 minutes of exercise a day. I was pleased with my weigh in. I am down to 212. So that is a 2lb weight loss. I was very pleased. I am hoping the great results weren't because I didn't eat a lot of food yesterday. I was under my weight watcher points. I came down with a cold so I wasn't really hungry. I am going to try and capitilize on this weight loss and keep it going.

I did see the doctor on Friday. I went in for my son's 2 month check up. I asked him while I was there if I could get back on the medication. He said that I could go back on it. He was pleased with my results the first time around and feels like I can be sucessful again. I love the way he worded it. I was doing great on my weight loss train but had a small derailment with the pregnancy. Now it is time to get back onto the train. Ultimately, I wanted to get pregnant so I wasn't upset about that,  but I am ready to get back on track. He did suggest that I take it for 2-3 months then take a month off and follow that cycle. This way my body won't become used to it and it can be more effective. I have seen people do that before and they did great.

I am hoping this cold doesn't set me back too much. I know when you are sick you need to let your body rest, but it is so early in my journey that I am afraid I will fall off. I just have to do everyting I can to stay focused and on track.
